Title
Bleasdale No.15 Bogie Ballast Truck
Bogie Ballast wagon 105, photographed at Porthmadog in August 1887. This photograph is Plate 12 in the Spooner Album.

The braked bogie on the top end is similar to that fitted to the Curly Roofed Vans whilst the other bogie seems to be of simpler design. This was one of a pair of very large goods waggons built by the railway to haul ballast, although like all other high sided goods stock in practice they would have taken a variety of loads particularly coal. Note the tare weight of 4-5-0, around four times the weight of a typical 4-wheeler, but offering six times the capacity being rated for 12 tons. They were both dismantled shortly after the First World War. The number plates and some metalwork survived.
