Rolling Stock at Dinas Junction.
Carriages and waggons on the transhipment sidings at Dinas Junction almost certainly awaiting auction circa 1941. The standard-gauge line heads away to the north.

The three carriages parked on the slate wharf from the right are Metropolitan Gladstone Car No. 29 (red) and Ashbury summer carriages Nos 27 (pink) & 26 (blue). These are followed by three large wooden 4-ton coal waggons (two of which are NWNG built, the other being a derailed FR vehicle), the large unfitted goods brake van (four uprights and windows set far apart), and three smaller waggons. Two of these are clearly slate waggons, one of NWNG origin, whilst the one furthest away looks like a FR 2-ton vehicle, although in theory it could also be a Rhosydd built iron waggon.

On the timber wharf sidings in the distance are a large number of goods vehicles. One at least can be clearly identified, the distinctive WHR Brake Van No. 2 (vacuum fitted with two uprights and the windows set closer together) then some box and crate type slate waggons disappearing into the haze. There are also four larger mineral waggons, the largest two of which at either end of the rake appear to be of similar construction to the three coal waggons next to the carriages and are probably 4-ton FR vehicles. Three of the smaller waggons (those with the visible horizontal body work) could well be wooden ex-NWNG slates but this is far from certain.
