Date
20/07/1934
The Baldwin Tractor inside Boston Lodge Erecting Shop, 20 July 1934. The petrol locomotive is parked on 3-Road. The fuel tank and sand bucket are prominent on the front frames. To help crew up to the fuel tank, lumps of wood have been added to the mudguards. The vacuum system is evidently in place but no bags are fitted. It was extensively used on goods traffic to and from various yards and wharves, the was regularly in and out of the Works for repairs. Note the line shaft running back towards the engine house, and the associated belt-driven machinery.
