The Football Pitch, New Moelwyn Tunnel South, 1976. Grading plant for material extracted from tunnel blasting. Oil tank waggon (similar to Maenofferen Tank Waggon Slab 25) being used as the fuelling source for the tunnel compressor, Atlas Copco mine loader (rocker shovel) next to it.

Simplex locomotives Jane (nearest camera post-accident sans cab) and The Colonel on skip waggon rubbish trains. Gunpowder van No. 152 on left together with Ruston & Hornsby locomotive Andrew. Granite waggons (converted from 3-ton slates) on rear siding. The ex-Hudson Toastrack flat waggon with the large pile of sleepers on it was the working platform for doing the weekly tunnel inspection for barring down any loose rock. 1836 Incline in foreground in use as access road to New Tunnel North.
