Boston Lodge Top Yard, 10 March 1956. Moving clockwise around the works are the Joiners Shop, Blacksmiths Extension, Blacksmiths Shop (still with all it's chimneys), Iron Foundry, Machine Shop, Erecting Shop, Long Shed, Sawmill, Boston Lodge Cottages, Brass Foundry, and the Old Oil Store.

This is now a valuable record showing numerous details of the old railway works that have since been lost. Note the various ventilators adorning the rooftops, the outside back stairs used to access the pattern loft, and the belfry.
