Title
The entrance to Boston Lodge.
Boston Lodge Works entrance from Pen Cob, probably taken between 1939 and 1942. The mainline is clearly still in regular use whilst the works has begun to take on a mothballed air that would deteriorate into chaos by the time the preservationists arrived. Catch point for the junction in the foreground, slate waggons and covered goods van visible in the Bottom Yard. On the line to Glan y Mor can be glimpsed a couple of wooden coal waggons (2-ton types), possibly a 1-ton open waggon, and probably a granite waggon (converted from 3-ton slate).
