Date
26/04/1969
The ALCo Mountaineer and Blanche with varnished stock at Lottie's Crossing with the AGM train, 26 April 1969. It was chosen as Mountaineer's name day. The locomotive's new cab is yet to be fitted with spectacle plate glass. Note the Stars and Stripes, Union Jack, and French Tricolour on the front buffer beam, reflecting the locomotive's history. The flared chimney is borrowed from Linda (which was having its boiler superheated at Hunslet at the time). Note the original bell of F.R. England No.3 installed on its namesake. Blanche's driver is Anthony Massau, whilst Mountaineer is driven by Allan Garraway.
