Blanche at Tan y Bwlch, July 1964. The locomotive is running in close to Penrhyn condition, although it is now left hand drive. Waggon No. 38 (formerly Palmerston's wooden framed tender) is being used as a temporary tender. The back cab sheet is still in place. The driver is Dave Baskcomb, whilst David McIntosh was the fireman. Note the temporary half length doors on the new Van No. 1 (Van 51) which is coupled to the newly lengthened carriage No. 12 (ex-Brown Marshalls Van No. 5).
