Title
Carriages at Porthmadog Harbour Station.
Carriages at Porthmadog Harbour Station, 1924. From the left are Bogie Brake Van No. 2 (almost certainly turned for use on the WHR), Curly Roofed Van No. 3, Bowsider 17 or 18, Ashbury No. 22, Small Birmingham No. 3. A train of mk3 quarrymen's carriages is stabled in the platform road. Note that, as part of Van 2's rebuild, the balcony rail has been changed from the formerly curvaceous shape to the more utilitarian, rectangular shape fitted to Van 3 from its building. The upper section of Van 2's ducket has been reused but, as it now sits higher on the side and there is no longer beading or a waist panel, the lower half is formed from horizontal match-boarding.
