Title
Power bogie from Taliesin (II) inside Boston Lodge Works.
Power bogie from Taliesin (II) inside Boston Lodge Works, early 1956. It is under overhaul in the Erecting Shop on 2-Road. This is in fact one of Merddin Emrys' original power units, in use under Taliesin (II) since it's last heavy overhaul under the Old Company. Note the belt driven machinery. The wall in the background shows the position of the clock the staff used to sign on for work. It was the position of this clock within the Erecting Shop that gave rise to the term ''Clock Side' whilst the engine driving the shaft line belts (behind the photographer) gave rise to 'Clock Side'. These terms are still used to differentiate the two sides of the railway or any vehicle on it.
