Title
Carriage No. 16 derelict in the Old Painting Shop.
Bogie Carriage No. 16 derelict in the Old Painting Shop (Joiners Shop), Boston Lodge Works, June 1961. Note the solicitor's compartment still in situ before rebuilding, formerly used by David Lloyd George when he was in local practice. This carriage has been left outside in the Bottom Yard during the closure period and was in very poor condition, but was restored in time, in part due to its historic importance.

As can be seen, the Joiners Shop, located in the far corner of the Works adjacent to the Top Yard, was lightly constructed from wood and corrugated tin. It was pulled down within a year of this scene.
