Boston Lodge Works Bottom Yard during relaying operations, 20 September 1958. The aim of this work was to removed the original right angle track and waggon turntable layout with points, particularly to access 1-Road. Note the pyramid of stacked rail chairs.
The Simplex is outside the Long Shed. Next to the firewood pile are granite waggons (converted from 3-ton slates) and a very decrepit looking wooden coal waggon No. 22 (subsequently renumbered 165) prior to its rebuild.
