Screening of tunnel spoil at the Football Pitch, circa January 1976. On the right hand track, mining tub 'Buchans' waggons (on loan) have brought spoil from tunnel blasting. On the middle track, granite waggons (side tipper waggon 160, Hudson 'Hoppity Hopper', 3-ton slate conversions) are awaiting graded stone for railway ballasting (which turned out to be unsuitable as ballast). On the left track, larger rubbish is being loaded into skip waggons for tipping over new embankments. Simplex Jane and RAF waggon at head of train, with the Simplex Mary Ann visible with RAF waggons behind the hopper.
