Croesor Junction looking south towards Porthmadog, 1st November 1947. Note that the mk3 quarrymen's carriage in use as a token instrument hut appears to have been removed in advance of the track being ripped up. This was the last substantial section of the WHR left in situ and this scene is taken within around a year of it being finally removed after the prospect of traffic from Croesor had faded. The gorse bushes and turf are consuming the track, the Croesor line to the left and the crossover points at the far end of the loop are barely visible.
The property in the far distance is Gatws Bach, with the line of trees on the right to the woods being the trackway from Gatws Bach which is visible to the crossing at Ynysfor and the abandoned road to Garreg.
