Carriages at Porthmadog Harbour Station, 1930. Brown Marshalls Van No. 4, Bowsider No. 17 and Small Birminghams Nos 3, 6, 2, 5, 11 or 12. Note the chain connecting onto the coupling hook of the van. This allowed a guard to uncouple from waggons without dismounting from the vehicle.
