View looking north from Glanydon Tip towards Plas Weunydd, photographed in August 1887. This photograph is Plate 37 in the Spooner Album. Terminus of Dinas Branch and entrance to LNWR Tunnel, summer 1887. Llechwedd wharf foreground with LNWR single plank waggons, apparently not transporters. Transporter loading turn tables and ramps evident (also at Oakeley wharf). Cramped location very evident, remains of temporary station to right of tunnel mouth. Oakeley wharf nearly deserted except for coal waggons and a single LNWR waggon. Empty slate waggons on the FR bound for Llechwedd.
Source. Bleasdale.
