Old Moelwyn Tunnel North entrance, 28 August 1956. This photograph was taken during the brief window of opportunity early, in the preservation era, when works trains could run all the way to the top of the line to collect waggons and other material before the line was lifted and flooded. Note the glimmer of daylight visible at the far end of the the tunnel bore, 730 yards from end to end.
