James Spooner approaching Pen Cob on the 7.50am Up train, 5 April 1926. The train is comprised of a 3rd class Small Birmingham 4-wheeler, Bowsider No. 17 or 18, bogie carriage No. 15 or 16, Brown Marshalls Van No. 4 or 5, another Bowsider, and one of the ex-NWNG Pickering Brake Composites. Note the large greedy boards on the coal bunkers, and the distinctive protruding top and bottom lips on the front of the power bogie.
