Prince at Tan y Bwlch Station with a Down passenger train, circa 1903 - 1909. The locomotive has been turned to face downhill. The driver is Jarrett Davies and the guard is Charles Beresford. The train comprises one of the large Brown Marshalls bogie brake vans (No. 4 or 5), bogie carriages No. 15 & 16, one of the 'porthole' Small Birmingham 4-wheelers (No. 12 or 13) fitted with full glazed windows, two third class Small Birmingham carriages, and a third class Ashbury 4-wheeler bringing up the rear. Note the penny in the slow weighing machine outside the station building. The centre road has by now been removed.
