File metadata
Little Giant on Down quarrymen's train at Tan y Bwlch. Photograph taken between 1889 when the full cab was fitted and 1893 when the vacuum brake was installed (and a "D" shaped smokebox later in the year). Centre road not yet cut back. Medium (possibly 1-ton) inside bearing open mineral waggon on centre road secured by a metal chock. The train comprises one of the Curly Roofed Vans, and 16 of the new mk3 quarrymen's carriages (18 were built in the main/first batch). On the right is a horse-drawn tumbrel cart; widely used on farms, and able to be tipped at the rear.
