Boston Lodge Top Yard circa 1946 - 1949. Moving clockwise around the works are the Blacksmiths Extension, Blacksmiths Shop, Iron Foundry, Machine Shop, Erecting Shop, Engine House (behind the stone archway), Sawmill, Boston Lodge Cottages, Brass Foundry, and the Old Oil Store. Palmerston is situated beside the Blacksmiths having been in use to power the steam hammer prior to closure. The yard is choked with wheelsets and slate waggons.
