Original T-rail with cast chairs and joint chair at Boston Lodge, 10 October 1948. This type of rail was laid during the 1840s and wasn't replaced by double-head rail on the mainline until the late 1860s. This is the original track for the gunpowder sheds at the far end of Glan y Mor Yard. Just to the right of this shot was a quarry-style stub point turnout, the type designed for double-flanged wheels.
