Palmerston derelict in Glan y Mor Yard, Boston Lodge, 18 February 1961. Bill Handscombe peers from the rear doors. The photographer is stood facing towards the Works (the building in the distance is the gamble end of the Erecting Shop) with the Gunpowder Sheds and sea behind. The locomotive was set aside for cutting up, which thankfully never took place.
Note; from April 1996 - Happily Palmerston was rebuilt around 30 years later and runs on as a sister engine to Prince.
