Title
Coaling James Spooner at Porthmadog Harbour Station.
Coaling a Double Fairlie at Harbour Station, Porthmadog, probably James Spooner circa 1920. Note the metal guard to stop coal going down the gap between the cab front and the greedy board end below the spectacle plate. On the left stands David Davies (a driver with some forty years experience) with a youthful Tom Davies (his son) on the right leaning against the cab. The man in the middle is supposedly Tom's older brother Will Davies. Hanging around David's neck is a hoop carrier for exchanging staff tokens on the move.
