A nearly new Merddin Emrys at Duffws circa 1880 (and to the right lurks Little Wonder). Small, square, sandboxes are fitted to the top end of the locomotive only. Behind, a mixture of Mark 1b and Mark 2a quarrymen's carriages form the rake for the Saturday afternoon Down train, with Railway Policeman, T.H. Hovendon carefully posing himself by the engine.
