Simplex Jane near New Moelwyn Tunnel South circa early 1975. The side tipper Hudson waggons are loaded with spoil from the southern cutting which was being excavated at this time. Blasting for the new tunnel has yet to commence. The small train is traversing the points on temporary trackwork. The embankments and culvert are brand new. The area in the foreground would gradually become the Football Pitch site where spoil from the tunnel was screened for use further down the line.
