Title
Wooden Waggons at Porthmadog Harbour Station.
Wooden Waggons at Porthmadog Harbour Station. The right hand one still carries its number plate. These 1-ton open waggons spent the entire closure period languishing in the station but were consumed by vegetation and quickly scrapped when the line reopened.

The Hudson bogie flat waggon (ex-Toastrack bogie carriage underframe) in the foreground on the Platform Road still retains the deck floor in this shot. It would subsequently be reduced to a bare chassis after the railway closed. 2-Road is empty, and the two bogie carriages that were kept on 4-Road during the war have evidently been shunted over to the Works. Taken together, this photograph was probably taken in 1946 around the time of closure, and may even be during one of the final shunts undertaken during the early autumn.
