Palmerston on loan to the Vale of Rheidol, 13 August 1913. The locomotive is using a steel framed tender (No. 2 - formerly behind Prince, but here labelled for Palmerston as No. 4), and has been fitted with chopper couplings. The train consists of two carriages and a 4-wheeled brake van, and has just deviated south of the VoR/Cambrian exchange sidings, and is about to skirt round the sports ground, run parallel to the Afon Rheidol flood-protection wall, before turning north again to the separate VoR terminus south of Park Avenue.

Standard-gauge Cambrian line and waggons in the background.
