Archer's Dam (Culvert 2) during the Deviation, 7 May 1974. Temporary tramway to remove spoil from New Tunnel North cutting, which was being blasted and dug out at the time. The spoil is being tipped to create the new formation alongside Llyn Ystradau in the distance. The actual tunnel work would not commence until the following year. The structure beyond the weir instrumentation is a corrugated steel storage shed for tools.
