The Baldwin Tractor outside Boston Lodge Engine Shed, 8 July 1936. The fuel tank and sand bucket are prominent at the front of the locomotive. To help crew up to the fuel tank, lumps of wood have been added to the mudguards. The bullet proof panel over the gearbox has been removed, and the rear of the cab is completely open. The vacuum system is evidently in place but no bags are fitted. It was extensively used on goods traffic to and from various yards and wharves, and on this day was being prepared for use down at Minffordd Yard.
