Date

Covered Goods Vans on the flour siding at Penrhyn Station, 14 April 1946. The conventional van No. 101 has hinged end doors, as does Cleminson waggon No. 8, fitted with its corrugated iron roof. This scene was taken within four months of the railway's closure, as is evidenced by the overgrown state of both the flour siding and the mainline behind it. The flour traffic saw these two vans kept in service right up until the end of Old Company operations, and were left coupled together during the closure period in the order seen here.
