Votty & Bowydd Incline Road Crossing looking down towards Duffws, 1949 - 1951. The photographer is stood very close to the operational summit where waggons were attached and detached from the cable, although the drumhouse stood a way further up the mountain, the upper part of the incline having been decommissioned, and the tracks cut short and slewed off left. The overhead bridge with dry stone buttresses carries a tramway between the waste tips and the mill. The road running down to the left joins onto Lord Street.
In the town below, the central tracks have been walled in and the old station and goods yard area re-purposed as a car and bus park, Queen's Bridge in the background.
