Palmerston at Duffws Station.

Palmerston at Duffws Station circa 1928. The locomotive's tank filler lid is missing, the front set of driving wheels are probably disc rather than spoked, and the tender is yet to be patched. The faded lining is still just about visible on the cab side. The short passenger train (likely the winter formation as seen in other photographs from this period) consists of Small Birmingham porthole carriage No. 11 or 12, Brown Marshalls bogie carriage No. 16, and probably Brown Marshalls Van No. 5 (the sister No. 4 having been withdrawn for rebuilding with passenger compartments around this time).
