Prince shunting above Queen's Bridge below Duffws Station (probably on Top Shunter duties). The driver is Will Davies. The rebuilding of the bridge (Merionethshire County Council agreed to take over the railway's obligation to maintain the road) dates the scene to late 1933. Note that the slate waggons seem to be LNWR 2-ton examples. The loaded slate will have come from one of the quarries above the Duffws inclines, and should be going down into the ex-LNWR (by this date LMS) yard. It was this traffic that lead to the section of line between Duffws and the standard-gauge exchange yards being leased during the closure period.
