Merddin Emrys at Duffws Station, 8 September 1906. The locomotive is coupled to the Curly Roofed Van (one of the original pair based on the curved balcony railing). Based on other photographs taken at the station that day, Merddin seems to be coupled to the quarrymen's train. Note the 'lifeguards' (rail debris protectors) fitted onto the power bogies. The houses in the background form the lower end of Geufron Terrace.
