Welsh Pony at Duffws water tank, 8 September 1906. The driver stood in the cab is Jarrett Davies. Note the locomotive's 'lifeguards' (rail debris protectors). Five Ashbury 4-wheeler carriages are stabled in the upper end of the miner headshunt, including No. 10 & No. 14 (those vehicles fitted with middle windows). Empty slate waggons in the Votty Up loop. This photograph gives a good view of the long covered road typically used to store quarrymen's carriages. Note the water level gauge reading on the end of the tank. Votty & Bowydd Incline ascends into the gloom.
Source. Norman Kerr Series 93 per Roy Cunningham.
