Title
Blaenau Ffestiniog Footbridge above Stesion Fain.
Blaenau Ffestiniog Footbridge above Stesion Fain, probably around 1954. It provided access from North Western Road (running between the FR and LNWR on the left) over the railway into the back of Benarview Terrace. On the right can be seen the old mineral siding to the timber yard off Dorfil Road. Coming in from the left hidden in the grass is the line connecting the ex-LNWR exchange yard and sidings to the mainline. Above this bridge the route was still in use under lease to transport slate from Duffws onto the standard-gauge. Immediately below the points to the yard the main line is neatly disconnected and slewed to prevent runaways heading off down towards Glan y Pwll.
