Title
Merddin Emrys at Porthmadog Harbour Station.
Merddin Emrys running round a short passenger train at Porthmadog Harbour Station. The fireman looks to be Tom Davies. The carriages include Bogie Van No. 2, Bowsider No. 17 or 18, Ashbury No. 22, and two Small Birmingham 4-wheelers. The station buildings are evidently receiving some attention given the various ladders in attendance, probably the reported repainting of the external woodwork and ironwork. Looking at the goods shed, the right hand roof beam still appears to be in the old light colour, whilst the left hand is newly painted. This dates the scene to June 1939. Note the 3-way point in the foreground and the level crossing. The track heading off to the right on the left of shot leads to the wharf siding on the harbourside.
