Title
Bleasdale No.40 Platform at the junction with the Great Western Railway, Duffws
Blaenau Ffestiniog joint station with the Great Western Railway (GWR), photographed in August 1887. This photograph is Plate 40 in the Spooner Album. The locomotive is a GWR 517 Class with a passenger train from Bala.

Note the elderly (one in particular looks positively ancient) 4-wheeler carriages in the siding, having been stabled for use on the 'workmen' ex-Ffestiniog or Trawsfynydd. This loop line adjacent to the GWR Goods shed on the the far right was provided, from the outset, for stabling carriages that formed the GWR 'Workmen's train', a service that continued one provided by the narrow gauge Festiniog & Blaenau.

Boundary post in platform centre foreground and GW signal. FR double and triple brackets protecting Duffws in front of Queen's Bridge. Note the mineral siding going off to the left.
