Title
Boston Lodge Top Yard.
Date
22/02/1958
Boston Lodge Top Yard, 22 February 1958. Looking over the main Works. Gorse bushes are still in abundance, having grown back from the initial clearance efforts. The assortment of vans and waggons is useful in showing the full extent of the fan of sidings coming off the main turntable. Palmerston remains in situ outside the Blacksmiths Shop. Specific vehicles includes the Breakdown Van (Mk2 quarrymen's conversion), two covered goods vans No. 116 and No. 101 (these two vans survive today as Nos 99 & 154), granite waggons (converted from 3-ton slate), and possibly 2-ton wooden coal waggon No. 20 on the left. The two smaller items are Moel Tryfan's rear bogie and air receiver cylinder, and a discarded Feldbahn bogie.
