Gunpowder Van outside Boston Lodge Erecting Shop.

The large gunpowder van that would subsequently become No. 152 in the preservation era series, seen dumped at Boston Lodge Bottom Yard outside the Erecting Shop on 2-Road, 1949 - 1951. Painted in bright livery, possibly blue. 1-Road is visible in the background. Note the right angled track just visible in the bottom left-hand corner, which ran onto a waggon turntable just out of shot to the left. This connected 1-Road to another waggon turntable outside Glan y Mor carriage sheds, running behind the Long Shed in the process. This sections of yard railway was laid underneath 2 & 3-Roads, which in turn were laid with removable sections that could be taken out when the right angled tracks were needed.
