Simplex Mary Ann on Boston Lodge Curve.

Simplex Mary Ann with carriages Nos 12 & 23 on Boston Lodge Curve, 1955. The driver is Eric Cooper. The fence that separated the works yard from the running line has yet to be demolished. Boston Lodge cottages yet to be painted white. The Simplex is propelling the carriages back to Boston Lodge Halt to collect passengers having completed the chain shunt. Note the member of staff waving a green flag from the window of ex-WHR Ashbury summer carriage No. 23, as per Rules about propelling vehicles. Photograph taken from the toll road stairs. The road was later widened to improve the access for transformers being delivered from the harbour to Trawsfynydd.
