Title
Dumped Rolling Stock at Porthmadog Harbour Station.
Dumped Rolling Stock at Porthmadog Harbour Station circa 1943 - 1944. On the left hand siding are Brown Marshalls Bogie Carriage No. 16 and Bowsider No. 19. Next across is an impressive assortment of goods vehicles, including early inside bearing 1-ton mineral waggons, Horse Dandy No. 50, wooden 2-ton and 4-ton coal waggons, and the odd slate. On the loop siding is a string of slate waggons, including a wooden example, mk3 Quarrymen's Carriage No. 8, Bogie Carriage No. 15, and Brown Marshalls Van No. 4. The platform road contains Curly Roofed Van No. 3, a pair of mk3 quarrymen's carriages, a pair of covered goods vans with hinged end doors (the furthest away being No. 63), slates waggons (two of them wooden) and a gunpowder van. There is an unusual double flanged waggon being carried upside-down in the near-most 3-ton slate.

Note the masts and rigging of the abandoned sailing ships in the harbour, vestiges of a bygone age that would soon be swept away entirely. This scene would be shunted on multiple occasions before the railway shut down entirely, with all of the carriages and some of the goods stock being moved to the Works.
