Welsh Pony at Tan y Bwlch, probably in 1936. Platelayer Griffith Pugh prepares to alight from the tender. In the cab are driver Will Davies and fireman Tom Davies. Note the lamp post on the right.
The short goods train consists of inside bearing wooden 2-ton coal waggon No. 40, covered goods van No. 1 (mk3 quarrymen's conversion with sliding doors) and a double balcony brake van (either Van No. 6 or 7). This scene gives a good view of the water tank and footpath exiting at the far end of the station.
