Boston Lodge Engine Shed, 31 August 1926. Palmerston on shed with loaded wooden 4-ton coal wagon in attendance for coaling during lighting up prior to coming off shed. Prince on main line with steel tender No. 2. Disc signal post centre right. Note the spacing of the smoke ventilators, two being required for double engines, and the pilled ash on the left. Driver Morris Davies walking towards the camera (but seemingly not rostered on Prince as there are clearly two men inside the cab). Possibly Tom Davies dismounting from Palmerston.
