Original File Details
Cleminson No. 8 at Snowdon Flour Mill, July 1930. This waggon had originally been used as an open vehicle for coal and alike, but later ran as a covered goods van with the corrugated iron roof seen here. It is rated for 6-tons and has a tare weight of 3-2-1. In this form it was regularly used for flour traffic between Porthmadog and the bakery at Penrhyn along with a number of other conventional vans right up until the end of traffic under the old company. The end doors are open ready for loading (note how these also have extensions fitted). One of the larger shallow roofed wooden vans fitted with hinged end doors stands on the WHR mainline on the right-hand track of the loop. Source. RN Redman Collection. KE Hartley.
